The founder of Scout Cranes, James Farber, strengthened his principles and values forged during his Marine Corps service. James honored our country serving in 2D ANGLICO supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. He developed and honed his skills of precision and excellence working alongside some of the greatest men he has ever had the privilege of knowing. With an honorable discharge, and a desire for the American Dream, James moved to North Dakota to work in the Oil Industry.

 

From the start of his time working in the oil field he enhanced his skills quickly advancing within his company. He recognized an opportunity to capitalize on the growing need for qualified crane operators. So with his toolbox of skills and his Crane Operators Certification, he moved to San Francisco.

 

His ability to learn quickly and excel at crane operations developed his interest into passion. He noticed though that there were glaring inadequacies in the industry and he sought to improve the way cranes were utilized and operated. The only way he knew was to not just be an operator, but be an owner to help lead the industry.
